Seven Tips to Help Our Children Achieve True Happiness

Posted by : bunda  |  Topic : educational toys

A happy event is the birth of a child, but what is next? Challenge of parents, now, is to make that child happy. Rhythm of life has been changing. Thus, life styles are also changing.

A member of family of dad or mom is educating children. In some other cases, a stranger, a nanny, raises them.

A woman who sometimes does not even share the same values or ways of thinking as the parents of child, but who is taking care of him, and showing him a way of living.

Not having a parental figure at home, make children feel empty. We do not suggest to leave your job, instead you can follow our tips to help your children achieve true happiness.

Watch their eating habits. Lacking an authority gives our children an excellent opportunity to learn unhealthy eating habits. That may make them happy at first, but they will have negative consequences such as health problems. In addition, eating lots of junk food, fatty food, or fast food make our children get desperate, angry or sleepy easily and quickly.

As a result, the short period of time you get with them will not be positive because you will be scolding him and he will be talking back to you. Therefore, instead of enjoying that time both will be arguing.

Motivate him to exercise. Motivate your child to do any kind of sport or other physical activity. Exercising is a good way to keep our mind free of harmful emotions or thoughts. It also helps to be stress-free. Although it is hard to believe, children are also affected by a very hurried routine.

Set time tables for watching T.V. Do not allow your children watch too many T.V. programs. Most of them have no childlike designs for this reason children might have lots of questions about certain words or behavior they listened to or watched on T.V. If you are not by their side, the answers to their doubts would probably not be solved by the most appropriate person.

Devote some time to your child. Although this may be a little bit demanding, giving some time to your child might be satisfying because you will know his way of thinking, feeling, his behavior, etc.

Pay attention to his thoughts or opinions. Children usually appreciate things that can result very common for adults and we usually ignore their feelings towards that given object. We often treat their opinions as unimportant because we think they are silly.

However, if we stop one minute to look carefully at what they are observing enthusiastically, we will realize that they are right and that what they think or feel about that special object or situation is unique.

Praise him. Listening to words that show approval or admiration for them is the secret power that make the impossible to happen. With those magic words you can change behavior, handwriting, unwilling attitude, etc.

Motivate him to play with educational toys. More and more toys are being sold.

However not all of them help our children develop their imagination. Most of the toys that are in the market are battery powered. Some of them promote violence as well as crime. You may find some fun, educational, and value-priced toys like high- quality wooden puzzles, thick durable cardboard jigsaw, etc.

Debating some attention to your child while he is still developing his way of being will prevent you to have major problems in the future.

A Guide in Introducing Toddler Toys

Posted by : bunda  |  Topic : educational toys

The birth of a child is one event that is most eagerly awaited by family, relatives, and friends alike. Even before the expected birth month happens, baby showers are held to welcome this tiny bundle of joy.

Finally, the day big day arrives. Proud mom and dad are eager to show off their pride. It is so hard to contain the parents happiness, most especially, such that more visits are expected from well wishers who want to meet the newest member of the family.

A welcoming party may be held to give everyone a chance to see this little baby wonder. There is so much outpouring of love and well wishes from guests.

Time flies so quickly that baptism and the first birthday is soon celebrated. In occasions such as these, the couple is overwhelmed with a lot of gifts in the form of baby clothes, a crib, strollers, blankets, baby accessories, and even jewelry.

Of course, who could ever forget the numerous toys in all forms, shapes, and sizes to entertain the little one. Mommy will be so excited with the various toys received that the playroom is soon filled up with all attractive and colorful stuff.

How can parents be guided in setting up the playroom? When is the best time to introduce a specific kind of toy? The toddler is a very interesting stage to behold. During this stage, the toddler learns to explore everything and anything it fancies. Not only does he try to test his physical strength, he also tries to get hold and manipulate anything that gets within his reach.

Aside from safety and the entertainment value of toys, they should be more importantly educational. Parents cannot spend all their time playing with their kids, much as they want to. Thus, the best way to maximize learning is to introduce toddler educational toys.

Expect the toddler to walk and run to what catches his fancy. This may be the stairs, the furniture or the tricycle. As he tries to scribble and plays with pens and crayons, provide him with writing pads lest he writes on the newly painted walls or on the matching sofa that adorns the living room. Push and pull toys are the favored companions of toddlers as they move from place to place.

As the language skills develop, take out the play kitchens or play sets to allow the child to take on roles he imagines himself to be. Enhance his vocabulary by pointing out the names and the functions of things around him. Let him sort things out according to shapes and colors. This will teach him the relationship of one object to a set or to another toy.

Socially, the toddler imitates the adult, an older playmate or sibling. Being conscious of the words spoken around the child, definitely is a good training for the child to learn good values. A positive approach also encourages him to try things further and accomplish the tasks he is set to do.

Introducing the appropriate toy for a toddler gives the little one a sense of accomplishment. It is therefore unwise for the parents to take out all the toys at the same time and let the child discover the fun by himself. Chances are he will get frustrated when faced with complicated toys way beyond his skills. Make the toddlers learning experience fun and meaningful.

Does Your Busy Schedule Take Time Away from Interacting with Your Children?

Posted by : bunda  |  Topic : educational toys

Sometimes we have a tendency to get so wrapped up in our busy schedules that we do forget about quality time with our children. This isn’t referring to time in the car taking the kids to school or dance practice. This refers to good old quality time between a parent and their child.

This may seem difficult when a lot of parents are working two jobs, going to school to further their education, or even taking care of sick family members. It may seem impossible to find the time to do interactive things such as playing games, practicing flash cards, doing crafts, and other activities that are important to a child’s development.

The good news is that there are ways for busy parents to still help their kids learn despite their busy schedules. It just takes a little bit of creativity.

Utilizing time well

Organizing time is the key to being able to spend time with your children. If you’re going back to school, try to organize your school schedule to the best of your ability to free up some of your time. The same is not as easily said for work schedules, but there are some cases in which an employer will allow the reorganization of a work schedule.

It more or less depends on the type of industry that you work in. Some parents have even had their children’s bus drop the kids off at their work or the kids walk to the place of work. Here, the parent can spend time with their children while waiting for the other parent to pick them up.

Multitasking is another way to be able to spend time with the children. While dad is doing chores throughout the house, daughter can be getting her homework done.

If he is working around the kitchen, she can do her homework at the kitchen table so that he can help her when she needs it. Even if you have to wait in the car for prolonged periods of time, having the kids do homework in the car is a great way to have quiet time and be available when they need you.

Making routines out of these two things can make a huge difference. Doing some of the same things repeatedly gets the kids and you used to doing them and it will become a way of life. Children are always learning and making it a routine to do things such as talk to them or help them with their homework enhances the learning experience considerably.

Getting help

It also helps if you can find others to help you. This is especially true for single parents. A good babysitter may be able to help the kids with their homework if you can’t be there. Maybe there is even a summer program or afternoon program that your child can go to until you are able to pick them up and have great conversation in the car on the way home. Even having a grandparent or a friend help out is a great way to keep your child moving where he or she needs to go.

As you can see, there are some creative ways to spend time with your child even if you need a little help here and there. In the end, you will find time to spend with your child even if it is for a little while before bedtime. Doing little things such as reading a book, telling stories, playing educational games making sure your child gets to where they need to be when they need to be there shows that you care and support them in the things they want to do.

Educational Toy Ideas For Your Preschooler

Posted by : bunda  |  Topic : educational toys

If you are searching for the right educational toys for your preschooler, you may be overwhelmed with all the options available. Toy manufacturers are now busier than ever, working hard to keep up with the latest trends and styles, and competing to make their toys the best and most popular among small children. Though the decision of what to buy your child can be difficult, here are several suggestions that may help you.

When choosing an educational toy, you want to be sure it will serve its educational purpose. You want your child to learn something while playing with a particular toy, and for that to remain a popular one with your preschooler for a reasonable amount of time. This is why you should choose carefully.

When selecting educational toys, it is also important to keep your child’s interests in mind. Remember, it isn’t the educational factor that will interest your child, rather the fun the toy will bring. Encourage your child to play with different toys and learn new things, but always try to give preference to the more educational preschool-level toys, whether they teach basic math or reading skills, color recognition, or just stimulate different parts of a child’s developing brain. After all, these simple, educational games can often be the most entertaining.

Chalkboards are among the most popular toys for preschoolers. They are also among the oldest. And since many modern chalkboards are double-sided– with a chalkboard on one side and a magnetic board for plastic letters on the other, this toy can also serve a dual purpose. By playing with it, your child will be able to learn the letters of the alphabet with the magnetic letters, and then be able to practice those letters on the chalkboard once this is accomplished. It also allows for free-hand drawing and hours of creative fun.

Toy pianos are also among the most popular and most beneficial toys. As shown in recent studies, children who learn music, even on the most basic level, tend to perform better in math and science-oriented subjects, and also tend to score higher on scholastic exams. Aside from that, this kind of toy is a great way for your child to be creative while making his or her very own music.

Blocks have long been among the most basic, yet most fun toys a child can own. There are many types from which to choose, from blocks that interlock, to those that simply balance on one another. Your child will have hours of fun building towers, houses, or just simply learning to stack and count.

No matter which educational toys you choose, be sure they are age-appropriate for your child. Check to be sure they don’t have loose parts that could be harmful to your child, and that they aren’t too complicated for his or her age and education level. You do not want your child to become discouraged by playing with a toy he or she does not understand. Also, play with your children. If you show an interest in the toys you buy, they are more likely to do the same.
